- To examine the main substantive provisions about the nature of inorganic binders for the production of synthetic stone;
- To know about resoures-saving technologies that give opportunity to use natural and industrial raw materials in the manufacture of synthetic stone;
- To examine the hardening process, structureformig, formation properties of synthetic stone based on aerial and hydraulic binders;
- To explore ways of improving the quality of synthetic stone during operation in an aggressive environment.

Summary of the subject:
Development of binders and their role in restoration. Classification of mineral binders. Air binders. Gypsum binders. Properties of gypsum binders and their application. Gypsumcements binders. The properties of lime and its use in the repair and restoration work. Hydraulic binders. Roman-cement, properties and applications. Use romancement in the restoration of buildings. Portland-cement. Types of cements. The use of white Portland-cement to produce synthetic decorative stone. The stability of cements in the aggressive environments. Building solutions for plaster and restoration works.
