Learning outcomes:
Acquiring theoretical knowledge about the concept, definitions, ways of implementing sustainable development of society and the role of historical and cultural heritage in this dimension; acquaintance with the functions of historical and cultural heritage in modern society; analysis of the experience of implementing the sustainable development of the society of foreign countries; study of the state of development and popularization of historical and cultural heritage and sustainable development of society in Ukraine; the formation of practical skills in developing strategies for ensuring sustainable development through the reformation of the sphere of historical and cultural heritage.

The trained specialist should be able to:
• apply the acquired knowledge in practical activities in museums and socio-cultural institutions
• analyze the state of realization of sustainable development of society both at the global and at the territorial level;
• know a legislative base in the field of historical and cultural heritage;
• track innovations and creative approaches in the area of sustainable society and historical and cultural heritage development
• organize professional activities and communicate with people
• analyze the implementation of sustainable development in various dimensions of society (social, economic, ecological, cultural)

Summary of discipline: Content, history of development, principles, components and indicators of the concept of sustainable development of society; laws, documents and international treaties regulating these aspects; the global problems of humanity in the twenty-first century, which determine the urgent need for a strategy for sustainable development of society; international experience in implementing sustainable development of society at the intersection with the historical and cultural heritage; the newest function of historical and cultural heritage as the basis for sustainable development of society; the Ukrainian and European context of this problem; innovations in the field of historical and cultural heritage; development of tourism and business in the context of sustainable development of society; popularization and realization of the potential of historical and cultural heritage in the dimension of sustainable development of society.
