Learning outcomes:
- mastering the basic concepts and terms of excursion theory;
- the knowledge of the main stages of the excursion business in Ukraine;
- the knowlwdge of the features, characteristics and an excursion classifications ;
- mastering the features of showing and telling during the excursion;
- understanding the stages of an excursion preparation.
- the ability to develop different kinds of excursions, taking into account the cognitive and age differences of the excursion groups, on basis of the knowledge of the excursion techniques and an existing technologies of excursions;
- the ability to work as a part of the creative team on developing excursions;
- the ability to apply specific instructional techniques during excursions;
- the knowledge of basics technologies while conducting excursions.

Summary of the subject:
The object of discipline "Basics of Excursions" is the study of the theory of the excursion business, methodology of excursion activities, technologies of conducting the excursion and history of the excursion business in Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria:
rating assessment on a 100-point system: current tests - 40 points (quiz, presentation, oral and written answers), final test - 60 points (written exam).
