Learning outcomes:
as a result of the discipline the student should know:
- Methods of searching, collecting and processing scientific information;
- Methodology and theoretical research methods;
- Methodology and classification of experimental studies;
- Structure and technology of the previous experiment;
- Objectives and methodology of the basic experiment.
After studying the discipline and the implementation and practical classes the student should be able to:
- To use modern sources of scientific information;
- Use simulations and mathematical analysis of the object of research;
- Process of the previous experiment;
- To plan and analyze the results of the main experiment.
As a result of study of discipline a student must learn the methodology and research methodology, their planning and organization. Based on the knowledge a student should be able to select and analyze the information on the topic of research, formulate goals and objectives of the study, stick out new scientific ideas to find their own solution, synthesize, systematize and theoretically explain scientific facts execute them as scientific reports and articles, reports.

basic knowledge of European history and the history of Ukraine
Summary of the subject:
To acquaint students with general information on science and research, concept, function and value of science and research, organization of science and research in Ukraine, scientific ethics, hygiene of mental work, research methodology, special and general research methods. Learn to identify the object and subject of study, choose a theme study to prove its relevance, formulate and solve specific goals and objectives of the study, seek and work with historical sources and literature at libraries, archives, Internet. Introduction to the methodology of writing a term or research paper.

Assessment methods and criteria:
rating assessment on a 100-point system: current tests - 40 points (quiz, presentation, oral and written answers), final test - 60 points (written exam).
