• understanding the complexity of the study of ancient history of Ukraine, disagreements on some fundamental research on the development of the ancient population of the state, finding the roots of the phenomena that affect the formation of the citizenship of our contemporaries.
• work with archaeological material,
• Use it as an important historical source for illumination and reconstruction of past events,
• shape the society a sense of responsibility for the preservation and use of archeological heritage Ukraine,
• understand the role and importance of archaeological sources for the complex reconstruction of historical events
skills: to use, in addition to special monographic literature newest materials posted online, a critical approach and analyze the results of research in the ancient history of Ukraine .

• familiarize students with the specifics of archaeological sources, mastery of terminological apparatus of tasks and methods of science to dating and reconstruction Antiquities Ukraine, review the history of archeology in the country, • the study of ancient penetration stages of primitive man on earth Ukraine; familiarization with the formation of its material and spiritual culture from the Stone Age to the Early Iron Age, a study of the ethnic composition of the population for archaeological materials, • the analysis of ethnogenesis Slavic tribes occurrence they state, comprehensive analysis of materials on archeology occupation, life and lifestyle of the population in the period Kievan Rus, • coverage of archaeological materials in Ukraine Cossacks day, • the characteristic most important archaeological sites of Lviv, get acquainted with practical methods of archaeological research (conducting explorations, excavations office processing material) .
