Learning outcomes:
1. Be able to design the structure of computer networks according to the task;
2. Be able to choose the technology for building a corporate computer network;
3. Be able to choose the necessary terminal and communication equipment for the computer network and build a structured cabling system;
4. Be able to structure the networks at the channel and network levels;
5. Be able to determine the main characteristics of the corporate network.

Summary of the subject:
To develop a corporate computer network of an educational institution that will provide users with the following services: access to distributed information, software and technical resources of the corporate computer network; transfer of multimedia traffic; access to the Internet; use of corporate and public Web, FTP and E-mail servers; protection against unauthorized access from the public network.

The history and evolution of computer networks. Classification of computer networks. Standardization on computer networks. Switching methods in networks. General principles for building local and global computer network networks. Topologies and data networks on computer networks. Addressing computers on the network. Network communication equipment. Structuring of local networks. Reference model of interaction of open OSI systems. TCP / IP protocol stack. Basic application, transport, firewall, and access layer protocols. Reference model IоT. Basic LAN technologies. Ethernet technology family. Ethernet frame formats. Token Ring Technologies, FDDI. Virtual LANs. Purpose of virtual networks. Creating virtual networks based on one switch and multiple switches. VLAN configuration. Switch Limitations Based on STP / RSTP / MSTP Loop Prevention Protocols. IP protocol version IPv4, IPv6.
